We have an immediate opening on the Taxpayer Services team for an Unclaimed Property Specialist 3. The purpose of this position is to efficiently and effectively collect, safeguard, and distribute unclaimed property to the rightful owners through prompt and courteous service, and to provide education to the public and holders about Unclaimed Property Laws.
Job Duties:
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Processing unclaimed property holder reports, posting cash receipts, assisting callers, receiving and managing tangible property transferred to Unclaimed Property.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
An office work environment and exceptional computer skills
Unclaimed property, escheated property, securities, probate, and domestic relations statutes
Rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to the determination of ownership of unclaimed property
Competent organization, mathematics, analytical skills, and decision making
Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in interpreting and applying rules, regulations, and statutes
Using automated systems to enter and retrieve information
Work in cooperation with internal/external stakeholders, difficult analytical work, and examine records and compile evidence
Gather data from manuals, statutes, rule books, codes, regulations, and comprehend written and verbal instructions to varying situations
Gather and report facts accurately, and analyze and evaluate information
Effectively keep several assignments in progress at once
Consistently meet critical deadlines, write and speak with clarity, and compute and enter figures with accuracy into a database
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Any college level education in the fields of Accounting, Business, or Public Administration OR experience and on the job training relating to unclaimed property Experience in a claims-review industry, i.e. insurance related businesses.
Hybrid Position – typically onsite 1 day per week
Required Experiences – claims experience, medical billing, government claims, insurance, accounting
Preferred Education – college level education in accounting, business, public administration
Start Date – would be onboarding to join NEO on 9/29
