The Receiving Technician supports shipping and receiving operations within the laboratory environment. The role involves receiving specimens and supplies, preparing shipment kits, documenting data in the LIMS, handling infectious materials, and ensuring regulatory compliance in lab operations.
Receive, verify, and document incoming packages, including hazardous and biological samples.
Operate the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for logging and tracking samples.
Prepare, ship, and manage specimen/sample collection kits.
Follow protocols for biological/chemical waste handling and decontamination.
Provide customer service to laboratory submitters and internal teams.
Maintain organized and accurate records.
Identify and report out-of-specification issues to leadership.
Support compliance with quality assurance standards and procedures.
Assist with outbound shipments and resolve shipping issues.

LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems)
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar)

Learn lab services, procedures, and kit requirements

Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
Knowledge of shipping, handling, and labeling of collection kits and specimens
Receiving experience in a lab environment
Experience handling infectious or hazardous materials
