Position Description:
Power BI report developer will create visually appealing and interactive reports, dashboards, and other data models using Power BI. Prior experience working with healthcare data including but not limited to medical claims data preferred
 
Skills Required:
1.Technical Proficiency:  Strong expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and Power Query.
 
2.Data Literacy: 
• Experience working with healthcare data including but not limited to medical claims data. 
• Preferred Medicaid or Medicare experience at a medical insurance company or equivalent work history at a State or Federal level for these programs. 
• Communication 
 
3.Skills: 
• Effective communication to collaborate with cross-functional teams. 
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
 
 4.Problem-Solving Attitude: Analytical mindset to identify data-related challenges and propose Solutions
 
Experience In: 
  1. Data Modeling and Transformation:
  2. • Collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to understand data sources, business logic, and requirements.
  3. • Design and develop efficient data models that optimize query performance and ensure data accuracy.
  4. • Transform data from various sources (primarily AHCCCS data warehouse) into a structured format suitable for reporting.

  6.  Report Development:
  7. • Create interactive and visually appealing reports using Power BI.
  8. • Leverage Power Query for data transformation, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for calculations, and custom visuals for enhanced user experience.
  9. • Incorporate slicers, filters, and drill-through functionality to allow users to explore data intuitively.

  11.  Dashboard Design:
  12. • Develop meaningful dashboards that provide a holistic view of business metrics.
  13. • Arrange visuals logically, ensuring a clear flow of information.
  14. • Use color schemes, fonts, and layouts effectively to enhance readability.
 
  1.  Data Visualization:
  2. • Choose appropriate chart types (bar charts, line charts, pie charts, etc.) based on the nature of the data.
  3. • Implement conditional formatting to highlight critical data points.
 
  1. Performance Optimization:
  2. • Optimize report performance by minimizing data refresh times and improving query efficiency.
  3. • Use best practices for data modeling, such as avoiding unnecessary relationships and calculated columns.
  4. • Monitor and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
 
  1. Collaboration and Documentation:
  2. • Work closely with stakeholders to gather feedback and refine reports.
  3. • Document data sources, transformations, and report logic for future reference.
  4. • Conduct training sessions to empower end-users in navigating and interpreting reports
 
Education Preferred: Prefer Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management or closely related field
