This position provides statewide clinical diagnostic and references testing services for viral and bacterial agents that aid in the diagnosis, management, and surveillance of infectious diseases that are of public health importance. This position is responsible for following standard operating procedures for laboratory testing using a variety of complex testing methods including molecular methods, traditional virological methods, and serological methods. In addition, this position will be responsible for other tasks to support laboratory testing in the section. This position may play a supportive role to other sections in the event of a disease outbreak or public health emergency.
Skills Required
Microbiological and/or chemical laboratory testing and interpretation. Using and caring for standard laboratory equipment. Applying safety precautions and procedures.
Experience Required - None
Experience Preferred - One year of laboratory experience
Education Required - A Bachelor's degree in life science.
Education Preferred - Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university in laboratory science.
