This Data Developer position will be primarily responsible for development, enhancement, troubleshooting, and maintenance of data-focused software solutions using T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Tableau, and other BI and Data Visualization tools, in support of various ADE business processes, data analysis, and reporting requirements. The successful developer will be solution-oriented, adapt to changing environments, and able to work with minimal defined requirements. Preferred candidates will be investigative, detail-oriented problem solvers who understand the power of data and the criticality of its quality.


• Develop T-SQL for creation and maintenance of database objects and functionality (tables, views, functions, stored procedures, scripts, etc.)

• Develop ETL and reporting solutions using SQL Server Integration services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

• Develop interactive data visualizations, analytics, and dashboard solutions using Tableau, Power BI, and other BI and Data Visualization tools

• Participate in all phases of the data solutions development and maintenance lifecycle

• Perform impact analysis on change requests, provide estimates for development efforts

• Participate in collaborative design and definition sessions

• Assist in documenting technical specifications from business requirement documents

• Support defect analysis and resolution

• Work with the lead Data Architect on implementation of data architecture principles to align and conform business capabilities

• Engage with the core data team in the design of efficient processes to load and manage data, data quality assessment to ensure that the quality of the source data will meet the information requirements, and development of business rules, data mappings, and transformation rules

• Assist in supporting multiple SQL Server data repositories, which may include documenting database architecture, analyzing datasets to identify missing, incomplete, or invalid information, and maintaining formal descriptions of data and data structures

• Work closely/collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Project Management, Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, Operations, etc.)

• Participate in various Agile/Scrum activities, such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint retrospectives

Skills Required:

• SQL Server development using T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS, plus intermediate- to advanced-level relational database modeling and design

• Tableau, Power BI, and other BI and Data Visualization tools

• Ability to recognize and apply data systems development patterns and best practices

 • Ability to excel in a collaborative and distributed team environment • Ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and business experts alike

Experience Required:

• 5 or more years of professional Data Development experience with relational database systems, utilizing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above.

Experience Preferred:

• Experience working on an Agile/Scrum team

• Experience in the Education or Government sector

• Familiarity with Special Education programs, services, and monitoring

Education Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field of study, or equivalent professional experience.
