JOB DESCRIPTION:

IT Asset Management Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day shipping activities and inventory control. The ideal candidate would have strong communication skills, work well as an individual or team member. Skills must include a strong grasp of shipping, including the ability to work closely with local couriers to protect OTD schedules. Knowledge of computer, copier, printer hardware and software is desired of this position to ensure right fit. This person must be able to juggle multiple tasks at once and can thrive in a fast paced, demanding, and sometimes unpredictable high tech environment. Having the experience to anticipate issues that could lead to project or service request delays is critical.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

IT Asset Management Specialist will process receiving and inventory procedures plus other miscellaneous shipments. Deliver materials to departments and IT groups as received and processed. Completes assigned tasks in Remedy Force and SAP and communicate via email in timely manner regarding all shipments received and all outgoing shipments processed. Putting together kits and issuing Remedy Force as needed and ensuring proper custody chain and disposition is maintained. Also, completes daily cycle counts of inventory materials, as required.

REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS:

Shipping/receiving experience including packing slip, purchase order and invoice validation etc. Able to lift packages up to 50 lbs. Receive and process daily deliveries. Processing and filing paperwork, including mail, shipping docs, etc. Issuing hardware items and Software licenses, inventory cycle counts, adjustments using SAP and Remedy Force.

• Under minimal supervision, perform physical inventory of IT Assets to include counting individual parts, materials and equipment at various operational sites and documenting the results to include posting the inventory results back to RemedyForce / SAP system of record

• Perform hands-on validation of data against the physical item to include removing the item from the shelf, unpacking/repacking it and placing it back in its physical location

• While performing the physical inventory, confirm proper packaging and storage methods

• Process daily supply orders of related requests, intervene when necessary to ensure printing supply requests are fulfilled and vendor payments are made using the city’s financial system

• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills / Experience:

• High School diploma or GED, Undergraduate degree preferred

• Ability to grasp and understand the organization and functions of the customer

• Meticulous data entry skills • Excellent communication skills; oral and written

• Competence to review, interpret, and evaluate complex legal and non-legal documents

• Attention to detail and the ability to read and follow directions is extremely important

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills

• Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other common software applications, to include databases, intermediate skills preferred

• Proven commitment and competence to provide excellent customer service; positive and flexible

• Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a professional disposition

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach and

• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds with assistance

• Ability to see close-up with good peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
