The Hardware Deployment contractor will assess user equipment slated for replacement and ensure all applications, data, and configurations are identified to properly prepare the replacement hardware. The Contractor will configure and prepare the new hardware for deployment, coordinate replacement with the user, deliver equipment, setup equipment, and verify functionality with the user. Computer equipment will be imaged through SCCM, applications installed as necessary, and user data transferred/restored to the new workstation. All work will be tracked through the Team’s ticketing system and asset management application. The Hardware Deployment Contractor will be supported by the Help Desk staff and supervised by the Infrastructure Support Supervisor. 

This position requires the contractor to physically report to City offices daily Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. All safety and COVID-19 practices will be followed to ensure the safety of the Contractor and people the Contractor will work with. 

Duties Performed Identify applications, data, and configurations on the user’s computer to prepare for replacement. Coordinate the replacement effort with the customer. Delivery/setup of the customer’s equipment. System verification to ensure all is working to the Customer’s expectations.  Desktop imaging through SCCM. (Windows 10) Desktop application installations and updates as needed. Decommissioning of hardware assets. Updating asset entries through inventory control software. Tracking efforts through the I.T. ticketing system. City vehicle use to transport equipment to various sites. Effective customer service skills to ensure every interaction is a positive interaction. Escalate issues outside of this position’s scope to Help Desk staff and the Infrastructure Support Supervisor. Lifting, unboxing, storing equipment, and disposal of trash related to receiving hardware.
