The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately entering sensitive tax and healthcare-related data into multiple systems while ensuring compliance with established policies, quality standards, and confidentiality requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. The specialist will support the Bureau of Infectious Disease and Services, providing administrative and data entry support to staff and management.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately enter customer, tax, and medical data into multiple electronic systems.
Perform quality control checks to ensure data accuracy and prevent duplicates.
Review, research, analyze, and correct errors requiring detailed attention.
Sort and manage paper and electronic records.
Assist in obtaining missing information from laboratories and other sources.
Provide administrative support to the Bureau and follow established guidelines.
Handle confidential and sensitive information in compliance with ADHS confidentiality policies.
Work from a private, secure location where sensitive information cannot be overheard.
Skills & Competencies:
Required Skills:
Proven data entry experience in an office or healthcare environment.
Strong 10-key and typing skills (15,000+ KPH, 60+ WPM).
Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency with:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Drive)
Internet and PC usage in a Windows environment
Strong critical thinking, research, and problem-solving abilities.
Mathematical proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, averages, and interest).
Ability to work with high accuracy in a production-based environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with medical data software (e.g., Medsic, EHARS, Prism).
Previous healthcare or medical data entry experience.
Education:
Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
Minimum of 2+ years of data entry experience in an office.
Previous experience working with productivity and quality standards.
