Position Description: This position is responsible for monitoring, screening, and processing Retirement, Survivor, Disability Insurance (RSDI) and Supplemental Security Insurance (SSI) Benefit application/claims for qualifying children/youth in DCS care. This position researches, completes forms, manages spreadsheets and works with several programs, databases, and software. This position also handles all the mail from Social Security Administration.
Skills Required: • Interpretation of statutes (both State and Federal) • Verbal/written communications • Research and evaluation • Complex analytical work, compiling and documenting fiscal data and computer navigation and tracking • Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with internal and external individuals
Skills Preferred: Administrative skills, organized, flexible, ability to multi task
Experienced Required: There are not too many people who have social security experience. This position is more like an admin, and can be trained. • Prioritize tasks • Analyze complex problems or issues • Solve complex multi-dimensional problems • Interpret and analyze state and federal laws • Display sound judgment • Work on multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure • Apply policies and procedures
