Seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage the implementation of a new IT system. The candidate must be well versed in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management (PM) and Development methodologies, has excellent communication skills, and lives in Arizona. The selected candidate will lead the project team to deliver a new system and coordinate with DES, the contracted system vendor, and other internal and external agencies/partners.
Skills Required:
Lead a project team to deliver system solutions supporting RSA Programs
Managing project scope, budget, and schedule
Plan, assign, and monitor project team activities
Interface with the system vendor to manage requirements, design, development, interfaces, data conversion, testing, training and implementation activities and deliverable reviews throughout the project lifecycle
Facilitate System security reviews and compliance with standard, rules and regulations Data Security Agreements (DSAs) are updated, active and in place for all data exchanges
Create and present a project status reports to the DES Steering Committee and Arizona Strategic Enterprise Technology (ASET)
Skills Preferred:
Superior knowledge of IT project management and development methodologies such as waterfall, agile frameworks and/or hybrid approaches
Good knowledge of the IT Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Good knowledge of IT project activities including requirements management, gap analysis, design, development, testing (various types), data conversion, interfaces, and implementation
Excellent skills in leadership and communication (both oral and written)
Excellent skills in organization and planning Excellent skills in directing and coordinating project activities
Excellent skills in problem solving
Proficient in the use of various project management tools including Google Workspace and Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint)
Ability to manage large teams
Experience Required:
Five years of project management experience in managing IT system development and implementation projects
Extensive experience in project activities including developing project schedules, requirements definition and management (functional and technical), planning and execution of various types of testing (user interface, functional, non-functional, accessibility, interface, data conversion, regression, performance, etc.)
Experience in use of multiple software development methodologies, such as waterfall, agile frameworks and/or hybrid approaches Experience in Google Suite, Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint)
Experience Preferred:
Experience working with government agencies is a plus Experience and knowledge of the Rehabilitation Services Program is a plus
Education Required:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification that is in “good standing” with the Project Management Institute (PMI) or similar Project Management University degree
