Roles & Responsibilities
This position is responsible for statewide recruiting, supporting volunteers with required applications, tracking completion of required initial and on-going training, tracking the volunteer's hours, and collaborating with the DES Volunteer Engagement Center for enrolling volunteers and ensuring background check completion. The position focuses on ensuring sufficient volunteers for the DDD Program Review Committees (PRC), Independent Oversight Committees (IOC), and other councils and committees associated with DDD. This position will be lead in planning and implementing the DDD Holiday Program statewide by identifying sponsors to provide a holiday experience for members and family who would not otherwise have the opportunity.
This includes identifying sponsors, outreach to support coordinators to identify members and families for the program, matching sponsors with requesters, coordinating the receipt of the holiday experience with the support coordinator and sponsor for the member and family. The position will monitor public websites and Internet platforms to identify potential volunteers, conduct outreach to community groups, attend meetings, interviewing and speaking to potential volunteers, and compose correspondence/brochures to share within the community of volunteer opportunities; explaining state and DDD programs and procedures of councils and committees to potential volunteers. Maintain and provide accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reports of activities to Central Office or as requested by DDD leadership.
Collaborate with councils and committees to provide volunteer recognition activities and with the DDD community engagement team to develop community resources which impact DDD members and families. Develop, distribute, and track donated resources and compose and send donation acknowledgment letters.
