The Accounting Specialist 1 reviews, analyzes, and verifies employee travel claims and creates the fiscal transaction utilizing the applicable automated accounting system. These systems include the Human Resources Information Solutions (HRIS), and Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
This position researches unresolved financial documents and responds to traveler/employee inquiries; consults with the supervisor, presenting and resolving complex transactions.
This position applies accounting principles and practices of governmental accounting while exercising discretion and independent judgment within the Administration’s established practices, and performs related work as required.
