The Software Architect will lead or participate in software requirements gathering, analyze current as-is business processes and come up with new to-be processes, define architecture of software to satisfy or improve business processes, define software architecture guidelines and policies that aligns with the IT leadership vision and strategy, create software architecture models, and conduct reviews of those models with the team members. The preferred candidate will be investigative, detail oriented, and have strong problem-solving skills.



  • Identify business requirements and requirements of the stakeholders on a project
  • Design an entire system based on the received requirements
  • Choose the system architecture and each individual component of this system
  • Choose the technologies for an implementation of each component and connections between the components
  • Perform and lead architectural review for software solutions
  • Create conceptual and physical data models
  • Create process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams and sequence diagrams
  • Perform code review to ensure that applications are created as per architectural design
  • Identify Proof of Concept (POC) requirements and develop and/or review supporting code
  • Evaluate off the shelf products and propose solutions to upper management
  • Plan for new technology insertion


  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience
  • Experience in designing and developing solutions using .Net Framework 4.5 or higher or .Net Core 2.2 or higher
  • Experience in developing applications using C#, ASP .Net MVC, Entity Framework and SQL Server
  • Experience leveraging Microsoft Azure Cloud platform services to design solutions
  • Experience with software delivery under Agile development methodologies such as SCRUM
  • Experience creating conceptual and physical data models
  • Experience creating various system architecture models
  • Experience in analyzing complex business processes and propose effective IT solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion and make sound decisions


IT experience in government and/or the education industry


  • Ability to effectively collaborate with project managers, developers, business analysts, quality analysts, other architects, and business experts
  • Ability to excel in a collaborative and distributed team environment
  • Ability to work with a minimal amount of direction while being pro-active in keeping their management informed of project related issues
  • Ability to work under pressure
