The Business Analyst serves as the vital link between the information technology organization and business units by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of analytical, building, testing, documenting and deployment tasks of the software development life cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Gathering requirements from the business and develop technical specs for new development, updates, and bug fixes - Identify and drive improvements for processes, controls, and customers - Participates in the design and enhancement of operational systems, business processes, and reports - Assesses project and/or business needs and produces supporting data and reports - Charts existing business processes to define current business activities for the development of procedures and models - Develops and documents business processes including documenting business rules, flow charts, and inter-department work flow - Researches, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develops strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes - Prepares UAT test cases and coordinates UAT with business leaders - Perform data validation/quality assurance analysis - Assist in pre-go-live user acceptance testing (UAT) efforts and respond quickly to issues that arise - Participate in regular status calls and meetings with clients and internal staff - Create and maintain documentation related to project implementation and transition phases - Ensure the Project Manager is updated on actions due - Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand business and requirements - Strong MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) - Results and client focused with a sense of urgency - Knowledge of SDLC process and Agile methodologies - Ability to closely work with non-technical business leaders - Experience with business process design - Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills - Highly proficient with Microsoft Visio, Word, Project, Excel and other application in the Microsoft Office suite - Team-oriented mentality and experience working as part of a team to achieve complex goals - Experience working in a client facing environment preferred - Experience working in a project management environment preferred - Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) preferred - Knowledge of relational databases required, SQL/Oracle preferred - Proven ability to manage multiple projects and complete complex tasks to a high level of accuracy and under pressure required - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required
Required Education, Experience and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of experience in business analysis (or equivalent experience) - CCBA, CBAP, CFLBA, CPRE, PBA certifications preferred - General knowledge of methodologies and techniques for systems analysis and design, business process modeling, requirements gathering, quality assurance, and software development - Familiarity with Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) - Highly proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Visio, Word, Project, Excel and other application in the Microsoft Office suite - Strong customer service skills
